Leif Cocks, founder and president of The Orangutan Project has released a new book, “Finding Our Humanity” that explores his nearly 30 year career of passionately fighting to save our distant cousin. In an interview with PR Newswire Leif Cocks explains that, “It can be difficult sometimes for people to see the similarities between humans and orangutans.” Cocks continues to say, “I’ve spent the majority of my life with these great apes and witnessed their humanity many times. We are all Great Apes. Orangutans and humans share 97% of their DNA makeup. Orangutans have cognitive thoughts and have as much humanity as you or me, sometimes more so.”
