OC/OVAG Veterinary Workshop Begins in Indonesia

2013-OVAG-logo-2

The fifth annual OC/OVAG Veterinary Workshop unfolds today in Bogor, Indonesia.  The multi-day event once again brings together the wildlife healthcare workers that care for thousands of orangutans in rehabilitation centers and in the wild across Indonesia.  This year, the OC-sponsored event is pleased to have 41 veterinarians in attendance and numerous guests.  Many topics pertaining to the future health and well-being of orangutans will be discussed over the five days of sessions, lectures and practical demonstrations.

Stay tuned here on the Orangutan Conservancy web page and on our Facebook and Twitter pages for daily updates.

And this year you can post your own questions to the veterinarians.  If there’s anything you’d like to know about orangutans in rehabilitation centers or in the wild just send us your question here and we’ll share it with the veterinarians in Bogor who will reply from the conference. This new interactive feature will give you the opportunity to be part of the workshop too.

    1. OC appreciates your comments. We are helping to support several unique projects in the field that we believe will collectively find solutions to better protect the amazing orangutan for the future.

  2. Hi,

I want to offer my heartfelt thanks and congratulations for all you are doing to look are these wonderful animals. Orangutans are such wonderful peaceful creatures, its is so sad to see them struggling, so excellent work in helping them. There are many of us around the world who look on in awe and respect, who maybe would want to help but cannot due to other commitments elsewhere. We can only watch with respect and wish you well in taking care of the Orangutans.

    Thank you and well done

    1. I’ll pass on your kind thoughts to all of the project leaders and team members at the various projects in Indonesia, Jim. Thank you for following the work of the Orangutan Conservancy.
