OC and OURF Announce New Orangutan Alliance

California Orangutan Alliance

In a new alliance, two of California’s premier orangutan conservation NGOs have forged a coalition to battle the plight facing orangutans in 2014.

The California Orangutan Alliance (COA) combines the strength of each organization’s many years of experience in Indonesia to make an impactful and lasting difference in the lives of orangutans and their rainforest home.

We are the California Orangutan Alliance.

While our two organizations remain independent, we’ll now combine our energies to focus on our common goal of saving our forest friends in Indonesia.

The Orangutan Conservancy (OC) is dedicated to the protection of orangutans in their natural habitat through research, capacity building, education and public awareness programs, and by supporting numerous on-the-ground efforts to save Southeast Asia’s only great ape.

The Orang Utan Republik Foundation (OURF) has a mission to support, coordinate and facilitate conservation education, outreach programs, and other innovative collaborative projects regarding the endangered wild orangutan so that it will be saved from extinction.
